Heal Through Counselling

Hello and welcome, I'm Kirsten!

As a counsellor, I aim to establish a genuine connection and provide a safe environment for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Using a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, I strive to create a space where you can delve into your inner world at your own pace, identifying patterns and gaining insights along the way. I see you as the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you on your journey. I utilize an integrative, multicultural approach that pulls from humanistic, systemic and collaborative modalities such as emotionally focused, narrative, family systems, and even solution focused therapeutic frameworks.

I value a holistic approach, recognizing the intricate link between mental and physical health. My focus is on supporting individuals in nurturing their relationships with others, but most importantly, with themselves. I'm eager to hear your story and believe it's essential for individuals to find a counseling style that resonates with them. That's why I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation. I also offer a discounted hourly rate in recognition that I am currently half-way through the process of completing my MA in Counselling at the University of Northern B.C.

In my personal life, I am passionate about inclusion and promoting social justice. As a member of the neurodiverse community and as someone living with invisible barriers I have developed a strong passion for social equity and social change. These values inform my practice. Here, you don't need to pretend to be okay in a world that frankly, just isn't okay.

I believe that it is important to acknowledge that I am a cisgender, white settler woman, currently residing on the traditional territory of the Dakelh people, more specifically the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation in Prince George, B.C.

At this time, I am offering sessions online only through video-conference, but hope to expand to in-person for those living in and around the Prince George region later in the year. If you think I may be a fit for you, let's chat!
